Jamal brings over 30 years of experience in business & finance across multiple markets. Over the last three decades, he has had the opportunity to workin Europe, USA, and in Pakistan for several leading international and domestic companies across diverse industries including engineering, insurance, investfients, banking and finance.
Over the last 2 years Jamal served as strategic financial advisor to select corporate entities across Pakistan. He also serves as a Sponsor/Director of Emerging Health International UAE (EHI), a growing healthcare company looking to design and deliver integrated healthcare solutions in the health sectors of Pakistan, UAE, and KSA.
Prior to EHI, Jamal served as Senior Executive Vice President (SEVP) & Group Chief (GC) of Corporate & Investment Banking Group (CIBG) at Pakistan's largest public sector bank, National Bank of Pakistan (NBP). Under his leadership over 5-6 years, the CIBG team at NBP executed hundreds of transactions and received 25+ domestic & international accolades from leading institutions. Jamal also served on all high-powered leadership committees of the bank including the Management Committee, Executive Committee, Asset & Liability Committee, Management Credit Committee, Executive Risk Management Committee, Disciplinary Committee, etc. He also represented NBP as its nominee Director on the Boards of several companies.
Earlier, Jamal spent 9 years at Samba Bank Limited (SBL), a majority owned subsidiary of Samba Financial Group (SFG) of Saudi Arabia, and was instrumental in bringing SFG as an investor into Pakistan's banking sector. He was SEVP and Group Head Corporate & Investment Banking Group (CIBG). He was on all high-powered leadership committees of the bank and also served as Acting CEO/President for an interim period. Prior to SBL, Jamal spent 8 years at JPMorgan (JPM) as an investment banker in New York and in London, originating and executing M&A/advisory, capital raising and restructuring transactions for several leading US and European companies. Prior to JPM, Jamal spent several years in other financial institutions and a leading engineering company in the UK.
Jamal is a keen traveler having visited over 65 countries and has lived in Asia (Pakistan), Africa (Nigeria and Kenya), Europe (Germany, UK and Gibraltar) and the US. He holds a BSc (Eng.) in Civil Engineering from University College London, UK, and an MBA from Columbia Business School (Columbia University), New York, USA.
As CEO of TPL RMC, Jamal will oversee TPL's entire real estate initiatives in Pakistan and abroad. Under Jamal's leadership, we are confident TPL RMC is well-positioned for strategic growth and expansion in Pakistan and in other markets. We believe his strong management style and governance will guide the company towards continued success and innovation in the real estate sector.
